Know-How

Types of latex

NATURAL

Latex comes from a single species of tree called Havea Brasilliensis which are native to South America, South East Asia and Malaysia. Latex is often blended with synthetic latex and can be processed with either Talalay or Dunlop methods.

STANDARD (DUNLOP)

Latex processed in the traditional manner; firmer, less expensive, less uniform batch to batch.

TALALAY

Latex processed with flash freezing; slightly softer, more expensive, more uniform batches, shape recovery.

ORGANICALLY GROWN

Created using only raw latex taken from certified 100% organic rubber trees, with no synthetic latex added. While the raw material is certified organic, the end product cannot be as the processing of latex requires the addition of chemicals, preventing

organic certification.

GO GREEN

Natura™ has been committed to producing natural, green and organic sleep products

for 20 years – long before it was a trend. Trouble is, everyone now touts organic claims

and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to separate the truth from the greenwashing.

Environmental Protection

 • Organic farms consume an average of 50% less fossil fuels than conventional farms.

 • One acre of organic farmland can absorb 3500 lbs of CO² (a known greenhouse gas) per year.

 • Organic farming methods improve soil fertility through natural irrigation and pest control.

 • Workers on organic farms are not exposed to cancer-causing chemicals and groundwater

 systems are likewise protected.

100% Wool Fiber

Not only do we want to ensure our organic wool
is completely free of chemicals and pesticides, but humanely harvested.

Sheep shearing  practices in many parts of the world are  disturbing at best and we believe animal rights is an important part of the equation.

CertiPUR-US®

CertiPUR-US® is a not-for-profit certification program for foam used
in bedding products. When you see the CertiPUR-US® seal, you can be confident that the flexible polyurethane foam inside meets
CertiPUR‑US® standards for content, emissions (low VOC), and
durability, and has been analyzed by independent, accredited
testing laboratories.

Oeko-Tex

Our natural Talalay latex is certified by the recognized industry leader
in textile certification. To be recognized by Oeko-Tex, a product must pose "no risk whatsoever to health".

GOTS

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. It
defines high-level environmental criteria along the entire organic textiles supply chain and requires compliance with social criteria as well.
